Amateurs not responsible
The Canterbury Amateur, Wrestling Association was not responsible for the building of the ring in which the professional Central Wrestling Association held its bouts on Thursday evening. The amateur body erects the ririg and provides many of the oreliminarv bouts for the Wellington Wrestling Association’s contests, but has no connections with its opponent organisation, according to .the chairman of the C.A.W.A. management committee (Mr W. Straw). A bout between John da Silva and Red Sheehan was halted for repairs to boards beneath the canvas at Canterbury Court on Thursday evening.
