Safe Air to seek rises

An application for an increase of Safe Air’s charges will be considered by the Air Services Licensing Authority on July 5. Between Wellington and Blenheim the present goods traffic charges are 12c a cubic foot, and Safe Air wants an increase to 13c a cubic foot.
Priority goods traffic will increase from 14c to 15c a cubic foot if the application is granted. Other charges applied for by Safe Air include (present prices in brackets): Cars up to 13ft 4in, $37 ($33.50); 14ft 2in, $42 ($38); 15ft 9in, $64 ($58); over 15ft 9in, $71.50 ($65). Between Wellington and Nelson, Safe Air has asked for an increase in goods traffic and parcels from 19c a cubic foot to 21c; also cars up to 13ft 4in, $42 ($38); 14ft 2in, $47 ($41.50); 15ft 9in, $69 ($62.50); over 15ft lOin, $76.50 ($69.50).
No increase has been asked for in fares, except to I follow N.A.C. fares.
