Stablemates unlikely
The Wingatui stablemates and bracketed pair, Jay Ribbon and Blank Cheque, will not run in the Oamaru Winter Cup on Monday. For the first time this winter, Jay Ribbon is being threatened with leg trouble, and J. A. Wil son is “marking time*’ with hopes that his good galloper will be fit for richer races later in the autumn.
All going well. Jay Ribbon might race at the Hawke's Bav winter meeting, but Wilton will study the Hastings weights before making a decision. An al ternative would be a rave at Ashburton.
Blank Cheque Is under offer to an Australian owner and it is expected that the deal will be completed within the next few days.
