Trading indecisive and mixed in Australia
Trading was closely mixed on Australian stock exchanges yesterday, and they closed on an uncertain note. Established miners were a little lower, but speculatives, oils,' and industrials generally held steady.
The Bougainville rts traded as low as 192 c, but finned to close 2c higher at 200 c. C.R.A. dropped 46c to 850 c, and New B.H. shed 20c to 1180 c. Con Gold eased 10c to 750 c, and Gt Boulder, and W.M.C. dropped 5c each. Kathleen Investments was marked down 24c to 730 c, Queensland Mines was steady at 1800 c, but Poseidon fell 50c to 2900 c.
Hamersley rose 7c to 425 c, and Utah gained 12c to 432 c. Peko firmed 10c to 980 c.
Moves among speculatives were marginal. Spargos eased 5c to 180 c, but Whim Creek recovered 20c to 440 c. B.H. Sth, Mallina, A.C. Minerals, and Nth B.H. Were fractionally higher while Gippsland, Allied Minerals, Hill 50, Mid-east, Nth Flinders, Nth Kalgurli, were slightly lower. Mount Lyell stood out with a 15c gain to 170 c. The oil section was steady. Woodside dropped slightly earlier, but closed steady at 70c. The 30c paid shares rose 2c to 49c.
Oil Search rose 6c to 30c, and Timor put on 4c to 34c. Among the industrials C.S.R., and E.Z.I. gained 2c each while Stocks and Holdings firmed 20c to 395 c.
