Greyhound racing
Despite a heavy layer of mud on the track, times at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s fortnightly meeting at Marshland Domain on Sunday, were generally good. G. Kingston, with three wins, including the South Island Challenge Cup, bad an excellent day, and G. Luke’s Pied Dancer which won both maiden races, recorded the best time of the day over the sprint distance of 250 yards. Results: Maiden flat (445 yards): Pled Dancer, 1; Mrs S. Grey and C. Kingston’s Cinnamon, 3. Time: 26.3. Progressive class (445 yards): S. Taylor’s Varna’s Charm, 1; R. Kingston’s Penny Flash, 2; W. Kingston's Rada’s Night, 3. Time: 27.0. South Island Challenge Cup (445 yards): G. Kingston’s Red Phoenix, 1; G. Kingston’s Dominique, 2; B. Kingston’s Tojo, 3. Time: 26.4. Open flat (445 yards): W. Jenson’s Planet, 1; J.
