MR J. A. McL. ROY (N.Z. frm A»«ociation> DUNEDIN, May 28. The death has occurred of Mr James Alexander McLean : Roy, M.C. and Bar, who for .25 years until 1960 was ' member of Parliament for : Clutha. Mr Roy entered Parlia- : ment at the same time as the ' Prime Minister (Sir Keith . Holyoake) in 1935, the elec- ■ tion in which Labour had a , landslide victory. Although bom at Clinton, .’ Mr Roy lived in the Taumata i and Wairuna districts for > most of his life. He worked ’ for many years on his • father’s farm at Wairuna. ■ Mr Roy is survived by his i wife, a daughter and a son.
