Berwen not to start
Berwen, the winner of the Haast Steeplechase at Riccarton on Tuesday, will not run at Waimate tomorrow. The Wingatui owner-trainer J. S. McKay, will give the Jekyll gelding a few more days to freshen and will start him at Invercargill next week.
Berwen’s stablemate Circulation, will be allowed to drop out of the hurdles field at Waimate. He is to be rested for a few weeks. Channel Command. Jade Wood, Sir Riddington and Smokey Eyes, members of H. A. Anderton’s Wingatui team, will not fulfil their engagements at Waimate.
