Directors to retire at 72

Tappenden Industries, Ltd, has joined the ranks of New Zealand companies having an age limit for directors. The board will recommend to the next annual general meeting of shareholders that the company’s articles of association be amended to provide for a retiring age of 72 years for directors. They will also recommend that a director should not hold any other office, including that of managing director, after the age of 65 years. In anticipation of this recommendation receiving the favourable consideration of shareholders, the board wishes to announce the following retirements and new appointments:—Mr E. L. Bartleet and Mr L. Wilson, having reached the age limit, retire from the board; Mr J. W. McKenzie and Mr R. W. Haworth have been appointed to the board to fill the vacancies.
