HIGHER GRANT
Historic Trust (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 23. An increased annual grant for the New Zealand Historic Places Ttust for the next three years has been approved by the Government. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) said today that for the last three years the cash grant to the trust had been $15,000 a year te Cover administration costs, maintenance, research, plaques, and minor projects: This had now been increased to $16,500 for 1971-72, $lB,OOO for 1972-73, and $20,000 for 1973-74. In addition to the cash grant, the Government has approved the introduction of a subsidy scheme under which it will pay $1 for every $2 subscribed to the trust up to a maximum of $5OOO payable by the Government in any year.
Tour of port— Today 30 officers from the Institute of Purchase and Supply will be conducted on an inspection tour of the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s port facilities by the board’s traffic manager (Mr J. B. Graham).
