Easy win to Manaroa

The New Zealand pace Manaroa climaxed a gre Australian campaign with easy win in the Invitati Challenge Stakes at Haroic Park last night, driven by N. Hargraves.

Manaroa started from 36 yards behind but was never in danger of defeat. He beat Royal Society by five yards, with Bom To Trot eight yards away third.

Manaroa did not show his usual tardiness at the barrier and skipped for only a few strides.

I Hargraves swept him I around the field with nine I furlongs to travel and he (raced to the front two furI longs afterwards.

Manaroa will return home next week with a Sydney record of four wins from seven starts including a success in the rich Lord Mayor’s Cup. Royal Society is by the (former New Zealand chami pion Caduceus who also sired the third place-getter. Earlier, the New Zealand trotter Cardigan Lass was well beaten into fifth place by Odd Adios. Cardigan Lass came up well from her 72 (yards handicap.
