Cecil Parker dead
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, April 22. Cecil Parker, one of Britain’s best-known film and theatre actors, has died at the age of 73. Mr Parker, who made his first stage appearance in the early 1920 s and in films in 1933, specialised in playing the Englishman of gentlemanly pomposity, obtuseness, impeccable manners and rugged common sense, not unduly blessed with either brains or imagination. He was probably best known for his comedy roles. He made his first appearance on the New York stage at the Music Box in 1950 in “Daphne Laureola,” with Dame Edith Evans.
