Support from Landlords
The Landlords’ Association supports the call made by the Mayor of Auckland (Sir DoveMeyer Robinson) for the creation of a Ministry of Local Government, the association’s president (Mr P. J. Diver) said in Christchurch;
“Lilje the Municipal Association, we have been for some time in discussion with the Government on' aspects of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954,” Mr Diver said.
“We are disturbed by those parts of the act relating to the licensing of apartment buildings and boarding houses.” Mr Diver said that both the Landlords’ Association and the Municipal Association had been unable to convince the Government that the act required amendment.
