Hunter shoots himself in hip
(N.Z. Press Association? TAUPO, April 22. A man accidentally shot himself in the hip near Taupo last evening. Mr P. Walker, aged 23, married, of Kawerau, was returning from a hunting trip when he stumbled on a log and his rifle discharged. He was in bush country about seven miles from the Rangitaiki Tavern, 25 miles south-east of Taupo on the Napier-Taupo highway. It was two hours before his companion, after walking to the tavern, returned with medical help. Mr Walker was then taken to the Rotorua Hospital by ambulance.
