53 JOINT CHARGES
Two youths gaoled (N Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 22. Two youths who appeared on 53 joint charges of burglary, attempted burglary, theft, and car conversion were today sentenced to two years imprisonment by Mr T. A. Ross, S.M., in the Dun edin Magistrate’s Court They are Keith Owen Hinds, aged 19, unemployed, and lan Phillip Davis, aged 20, a cook, who were convicted on all charges on April 15 but remanded for a psychiatric report. The Magistrate said: “There is nothing to indicate that reformation would be better carried out in a Borstal than in prison. Each of the youths has been in Borstal for some months. Upon their discharge, they embarked upon a series of criminal activities.”
