Blanket Valley Likely
“The Press' 7 Special Service AUCKLAND. Blanket Valley, a runaway at Addington over Easter, appeals as a great propect for the Stratford Trotting Cup tomorrow. He has drawn No. 1 on the limit and, although the class is slightly tighter, the opposition looks no stronger than at Addington. Shining Armour might be a tough opponent. He has shown his best form on grass and at New Plymouth last Saturday showed he was regaining form when he ran third in the Taranaki Trotting Cup.
Young Cardigan, Tartan Lad and Vandameda will also be well backed.
Goldric may be the hardest to beat in the Teacher’s Whisky Handicap, the second leg of the T.A.B. concession double. He ran on gamely for second at New Plymouth last Saturday after some good showings at the three-day Hawera meeting. Halter Hal and the Stylish Forbes-Strange One combination look the best of the others.
