Forbury SUDDEN (Race 4), b g 4 yrs, by Young Charles—Mighty Imp, trained by F. A. Skates, Ashburton. Unbeaten in two starts at Greymouth late last month, the most recent being over two miles in 4min 28sec. Looks to be well above average and should master the distance in this race better than most of his rivals. Wairio
SILVER SAVANT (Race 1), g 10 yrs by Silver King—Lady Scholar, trained by J. Gordon, at Kennington. After a spate of recent placlngs looks set for a win in the Forde Steeples tomorrow. Hastings BOLD (Race 1), b g 3 yrs by Lionhearted —Calm, trained by K. Quinlivan, Hastings. Good run for second at her last start at the Napier Park meeting. Consistent and should gain overdue win here. Te Aroha LOCH IE L FAIR (Race 8), ch c 3 yrs by Fair’s Fair— Lochiel’s Fancy, trained by G. Cameron, Takanini. Trying for his second successive win and should win again. He has won on firm and heavy footing and appears to have come through nis latest racing in excellent shape. One of the most promising intermediate horses in training. Stratford GAY MARLENE (Race 5), b m Johnny Globe—Gay Time, trained by I. W. Dickie, at Te Awamutu. Looked unlucky at New Plymouth last week and is a solid stayer.
