Meeting at Amberley?
Stewards of the Amberley Racing Club are confident that given "normal conditions” in the meantime their track will be suitable for racing on on May 15. But if an inspection committee finds on May 7 that the Amberley track has not recovered from the drought and is not suitable, a decision will be made about transferring the meeting to Rangiora. The inspecting committee will be the Amberley club’s president, the chairman of the track committee, the stipendiary steward, and a representative of the jockeys.' The Amberley club’s secretary (Mr G. L. Bradbury) said yesterday that trainers were being advised of the situation and were being invited to nominate for the meeting with the assurance that they would not be charged nomination fees if the • final choice of venue did not suit them.
