Stolen cabin cruiser still missing

Christchurch detectives believe the $7500 cabin cruiser, Miss Lynn Marie, stolen from a boat yard in Christchurch last Monday, may be stripped and the parts, including two outboard motors, valued at $4400, sold by the thieves. A description of the cruiser taken from the yard of Butler Marine, Ltd, has been circulated throughout New Zealand and a close watch is being kept on the inter-island ferries in case the thieves try to take the boat to the North Island.

After the publication of a photograph of the craft in “The Press” on Tuesday, several persons who saw a boat on a trailer in the city on Monday morning have spoken to the C. 1.8. and police would welcome any further information.

The boat has been entered by its owner for the Rotary Power-boat Marathon on Lyttelton Harbour on May 1. She is 19 feet long, a deep vee Cresta Craft, painted white with an orange strip round the top of the hull, which is fully fibreglassed. Miss Lynn Marie is painted on tlie rear portion of each side and the number 40 is painted on the deck. The trailer is a tandemtype, also painted white, registration No. 210CP, has two green caravan jacks on each rear comer, and is fitted with air brakes.

The outboard motors are two black 80 h.p. Mercurys,

serial numbers 2786766 and 2786758. They are valued at $2200 each.
