Litter bag proposal
Efforts by the National Anti-Litter Campaign Council to make litter bags widely available to car users had a mixed reception at the North Canterbury Electric Power Board’s quarterly meeting at Rangiora. A circular sent by the council requested the board’s co-operation in distributing the Utter bags to the public. A suggestion by a board member that the litter bags, available at $240 for 104)00, could be distributed with consumers’ accounts, was opposed by some councillors. The matter was deferred for three months.
