Duffield) won the 54400 first prize by beating Mr M Ritzenberg’s Clever Scot <G. Starkey). Mr B. Brookes Carry more (P. Eddery) finished third of 16 runners.

Tartar Prince won by one length and a half, with the same distance between second and third.

After a four-horse photofinish. Spoiled Lad. owned bv Sir J. Thorn won the Blue Riband Trial Stakes over one mile and 110 yards.
