(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) EPSOM (England). Tartar Prince, owned bv Mr J. Parker, won the Great Metropolitan Handicap over two miles and a quarter yesterday. Tartar Prince (G. Duffield) won the 54400 first prize by beating Mr M Ritzenberg’s Clever Scot <G. Starkey). Mr B. Brookes Carry more (P. Eddery) finished third of 16 runners.
Tartar Prince won by one length and a half, with the same distance between second and third.
After a four-horse photofinish. Spoiled Lad. owned bv Sir J. Thorn won the Blue Riband Trial Stakes over one mile and 110 yards.
Spoiled Lad (E. Johnson) won the $B4OO first prize by beating Mr C. St George’s Charladouce
<G. Lewis) by a head. An outsider, Kia vie r (A. Murray) owned by Mr J. Morrison, finished a further half a length away third of 10 runners.
Spoiled Lad is a chestnut colt by Pardao —Vanita, by Cagirell
