Brewery to close

NEW PLYMOUTH, April 20. The brewing plant of Taranaki Brewery, Ltd, in New Plymouth, will close soon. Beer for the company’s outlets in Taranaki will be brought from Auckland. This was announced in New Plymouth yesterday by the general manager of Dominion Breweries, Ltd (Mr W. S. Otto). D.B. took over Taranaki Brewery, Ltd, two years ago. The New Plymouth brewery was founded on its Queen Street site in 1864 by Mr James Paul.
