HOST FOR N.Z. TITLES
The Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club at. Lyttelton will be host for two national yachting championships early next year. Between January 1 and January 4, the New Zealand Hartley 16ft Trailer-Sailer series will be held for the Quick Stik Trophy and the P Class inter-provincial (Tanner Cup) and inter-club (Tauranga Cup) contests are scheduled to be held from January 8 to January 15. The P class dates and
venue are subject to approval from sponsors and the New Zealand federation, but this is usually only a formality. The Olympic Games trials in the Flying Dutchman, Dragon, Solong and Finn classes have ben allocated to Browns Bay, Auckland, from March 7 to March 16. It is expected that the conditions will resemble those likely to be encountered at the Olympic Games regatta in Kiel, later in the year.
