The Mayor’s Benevolent j Fund had been nominated for . the last two years, said the ; Mayor. “That is as far as we j got; we received nothing.” 1 Cr E. A. Thompson, who s proposed that the request be - acceded to, said that the 1970 publication lacked the “lurid- > ness” of the other years. 1
