TROTTING Blanket Valley is picked tonight
“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Blanket Valley won so impressively at a matinee at Alexandra Park on Saturday he looks sure to be tough to beat in the Hamilton Pace, the second leg of th« T.A.B. concession double at the Waikato Trotting Club's meeting at Claudelands tonight. Early in the season Blanket Valley won three races in succession and his connections thought so highly of him they entered him for the InterDominion Championships. But his form deteriorated and the engagement was not continued. Blanket Valley was fourth at his last appearance at a total)sator meeting—at Alexandra Park recently—and his showing at the matinee indicated he was back to his best. The Hamilton Pace has drawn a strong field of 2min 17sec class horses and there is bound to be good support, too, for Laurel I Lad and Vi Direct. Faye Bingen remains in favour for the first leg, the < Claudelands Raceway Pace. Her main opposition may be provided by Mark Hanover and Cochrane. The forecast is favourable and the track should be fast.
