Males may not be midwives
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright? KASSEL (Germany), Mar. 26. A West German court has ruled that men cannot become midwives, and that this decision does not interfere with constitutional guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for both sexes. The Administrative Court of the West German state of Hesse rejected the claim of a bachelor, aged 38, to equal rights, and ruled that neither the Constitution nor the entrenched rights to free choice of education and employment entered into his case.
