Annual meetings
:An appeal for new members ot the Christchurch Liederkranzchen, particularly in the contralto section, was made by the conductor, Mr G. Thorpe, at the recent annual meeting. A successful year’s work was reported. A presentation was made to the retiring president, Miss L. F. Church, who was also made a life member in recognition of her long service to the choir.
Two new vice-presidents. Mesdames J. Collins and S. Fogg, were appointed. Other officers elected.—Patron. Dr Vernon Griffiths; president, Mrs D. Lee; secretary, Mrs G. Johnston; assistant secretary. RID CROSS The Oxford sub-centre of the Red Cross Society held its annual meeting recently. Officers elected: Patrons, Mesdames F. Gorton. K. Henderson; president, Mrs A. P.
