Higher prices for meats
Higher prices for carcase meat, particularly beef, brought slow trading conditions on the Smithfield Market last week, the Meat Board reports. New Zealand lamb sold steadily at firm prices, and the main grade of lamb (29 to 361 b) was up slightly on last week’s prices, realising 14.2 p to 14.4 p (30.4 c Small quantities of New Zealand mutton cleared mainly in cut form.
