Supreme Court Daughter given outright share of estate
Increased provision from the estate of Richard Andrew, Mould, a retired fanner, of Wainui, who died in 1969, was granted to a daughter, Mrs Joyce Maggie Odell, under the Family Protection Act by the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild) in the Supreme Court yesterday. The estate is valued at more than $84,000. The application by Mrs Odell was presented by Mr P. T. Mahon, and counsel appearing for other parties were Messrs R. J- de Goldi, J. N. Matson, P. F. Tempero, J. F. Bum, and J. R- Fox. His Honour said that Mr Mould left his personal chattels to his widow and gave the whole of the residue of his estate to his trustees to pay the income from it to ner for life. On her death the capital was to be divided into three parts for his three
daughters by hrs first marriage. Two of them were to receive the money outright and the third, Mrs Odell, was to receive the interest from her share from the trustees. There was no evidence as to why Mrs Odell should not have been provided for on the same basis as her sisters. The order would put her in parity with her sisters, said his Honour.
