j (N.Z Pr««» Atiociction) . AUCKLAND. March 28. , Mrs Mary Laplau, believed . to be the oldest Esperantist in the world, died today at . her home in Howick, aged . 106. Miss Luplau, bom in Bali larat, Australia in 1865, came to New Zealand in 1914 and I had lived in Hoiwick for the last 25 years. When she celebrated* frer ; 106th birthday last month, Miss Luplau said that her secret of longevity was a contented mind and chewing her food well.
