Cottesmore ball
Seventeen debutantes were presented to the Right Rev. Monsignor G. V. Daly, at the Cottesmore College debutante ball at the Winter Gardens, Christchurch, on Saturday evening.
The debutantes, presented by Mrs G. Cross, senior vicepresident of the Sacre Coeur Old Girls’ Association, were Misses Katharine Davey, Christine McMullan, Mary Kennedy, Marybelle Henderson, Suzanne Quinn, Barbara Devery, Jane Mears, Bridgette Loughnan, Geraldine Stone, Christine Stone, Judith Grice, Mary Keown, Kathleen Dwan, Maty Walker, Vivienne Cotter, Therese Candy and Christine Willcox.
Specially invited guests included the Rev. T. C. Curnow and J. Considine. Kindred associations were represented by M rand Mrs M. Bridgeman (Villa Maria), Mr and Mrs R. M. Collins (St Margaret’s), Mr and Mrs J. G. Mullins (Sacred Heart), Mr and Mrs L. R. D. Scott (Rangi Ruru), and Mrs M. Adamson (StMary’s). Members of the organising committee were Mesdames J. Kearney, P. Cross, N. McCormack, L. Stone and Messrs K. Curnow and H. Connor. I
