Mr R. W. Fookes, of Tawa, has been appointed the chief I design engineer (power division), Ministry of Works. Mr Fookes, who has been closely associated with the New Plymouth power project, has specialised in the design of hydraulic structures, and led ithe design team for the Avie!more project Mr Fookes was appointed the assistant chief i design engineer in 1966.
