AUCKLAND, March 28. A Magistrate on Friday declined jurisdiction on 27 charges, when Charles Rang! Apihai, aged 22, a prison inmate, appeared for sentence on 29 charges.

Mr D. G. Sinclair, S.M., committed Apihai to the Supreme Court for sentence. On two charges of reckless driving and theft, Apihai was sentenced to three months gaol. Apihai admitted the two latter charges, as well as one of escaping, 12 of taking motor-cars, eight of burglary, one of unlawful getting into a motor-car, two of assault with intent to facilitate flight, two of taking bicycles, and one of driving while disqualified. He had nothing to say in court.
