Gary England, the younger of the two brothers who won the national Junior Cherub title this year, showed his skill as a skipper when the Christchurch Yacht Club held the Crews’ Race Cup event on Saturday.

At the helm of Rana. England took time and handicap honours in a nine-boat fleet dominated by J.C.s. Rana ■won comfortably from Tom Rush, the third-ranked J.C. in die country. Girl skippers were to the fore in P class trophy events held by the club yesterday and on Saturday. Elizabeth Maynard, in Pastime 11, won the Peter Lamb Memorial Cup from Joanne Simmonds,

in Conquest over two races, while Maryann Stemmer won the Sea Spray Trophy (A division) from her cousin, T. Stevens, the national P class champion. Victory in the final heat of the J.
