RANDOM REMINDER
CONCLUSIONS
A recent reunion of the former pupils of a certain secondary school in Christchurch will be remembered by those who attended with especial delight. There was all the fun of renewing the acquaintance fiL od . F ® tso t from the fifth, etc., but the greatest joy came from the reading of the apologies at one of the meetings during the reunion. 6
When the chairman asked if there were any apologies, a man stood up and said he had had a letter from a former headmaster of the school, asking to tender his apology. “I will be unable to attend” the headmaster had written “because I made bookings three months ago to take a motel in Takaka and it is difficult now to make other arrangements.” The chairman asked if
there were any further apologies. A lady rose and said she had one in a letter from a former headmistress of the school. “I am unable to be present” the lady wrote, “because I booked a motel in the Nelson district three months ago and when other people are involved it is very difficult to change the dates.” Uproar. _
