A fine Innings by C. L. Bull took High School Old Boys within range of the total needed to equal ' West-University’s five batting bonus points, only 11 runs being required In two overs when his, the fifth wicket, fell. The penultimate over produced four runs but In the fiftieth West-University not only prevented High School Old Boys scoring seven but also captured three wickets. In the process appreciating P. A. Sharp's bowling figures of one for 55 to four for 59. AU three wickets fell to high catches, but the highest and longest was the last. Hit by A, R. Hounsell, the ball soared into the Hr, hung for a moment, then slowly dropped 'towards G. T. Dowling positioned two feet inside the boundary. And it was these two feet which determined the two difference in bonus points between the teams. Bull batted with skill and fine timing on the rather slow Ham pitch and received solid support from J. W. Calder in a fourthwicket stand of 70. West - University’s second innings included a competent score of 46 not out from B. K. Bhana and a fast 50 from B. F.
