UNBEATEN RECORD
Soccer win to United Christchurch United ended its build-up campaign to the Rothmans National Soccer League competition, which starts next Saturday, by defeating Dunedin Suburbs, 1-0, at the Caledonian ground yesterday. The only goal was scored by the left-wing, K. Doomenbal, just before half-time. His tierce drive from 30 yards hit the underside of the bar and rebounded over the line.
The game failed as a spectacle to the crowd of 700 because of the strong southerly blowing the length of the ground that made playing conditions extremely difficult. In its four build-up matches against other national league sides In the last fortnight, Christchurch United won three, drew one, and did not concede a goal. It had earlier beaten Dunedin Suburbs, 3-0, in Christchurch, while In Wellington, United defeated Western Suburbs, 4-0, and drew, nil-all, with Wellington Ci she team will have its first match of the 1971 _ national league against Stop Out (Wellington) at English Park next Saturday.
