Interflora visitors
Five senior executives of Interflora, the international delivery network of 37,000 florists in 130 countries, visited Christchurch at the weekend during a brief tour of New Zealand, after attending a meeting of the organisation’s executive in Melbourne. The ' executive members were: Mr G. Aruhn, of Sweden, president of Interflora; Mr A Wilhelmy, of the United States, vice-president; Miss H. Fueg, of Switzerland, general-manager of FleurdpInterflora, the international organisation’s branch in Europe; Mr J. Rendali, of London, secretary of the British unit of Interflora; and Mr U. Formichella, of the United States, general manager of Interflora. Mr Formichella was bom in Wellington in 1931, where his father was stationed as Italian Consul-General to New Zealand.
The party arrived in Christchurch from Melbourne on Saturday afternoon and in the evening attended a reception organised by local members of the organisation at the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce.
Yesterday they met local members of Interflora to discuss schemes for a new structure for the organisation. Later, they were taken on a tour of Christchurch before leaving for Wellington.
