(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Off-course bets on the first day of tbe Whangarei meeting yes terday totalled 8323,084.50, an increase of 894,078.50. Win-and-place bets accounted for 8165,050. The on-course total was 893430.50, an Increase of 828.140.50.
