Officers of guilds
Christchurch Townswomen’s Guilds are now holding their annual meetings. Officers elected were:—
Christchurch North—President, Mrs R. G. Smith; secretary, Mrs H. W. Newland; treasurer, Mrs G. L. Harris; committee, Mesdames H. F. Arnold, L. Berry, F. Clark, M. Howley, W. S. Johnson, J. Russell, A. Steven, F. E. Taylor, S. G. Turner, E. I. MacFarlane. Mesdames L. Berry and ■S. G. Turner were appointed vice presidents. Avonhead.— President, Mrs A. M. Young; secretary, Mrs I. Watson; treasurer, Mrs I. M. Nicholson; committee, Mesdames H. R. Warren, M. Brown, J. Henderson, J. Hayton, A. Harding, I. Thompson, J. Coulbeck, E. Bartram. Annual trophies presented were.—Christchurch North — Hames Cup, Mrs P, H. Roberts (arts and crafts circle); Roberts Trophy, Miss M. Dewhirst (garden circle); Russel! Cup, Mrs D. -C. Down; (vegetable section' prize, Mrs P. BL" Roberts). Avonhead— The Floral Cup, Mrs J. McKitterick; the Arts and Crafts Cup, Mrs W. Roger.
