FIVE ALL BLACKS
First match in V.K. (N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) LONDON. Five of the seven All Blacks in the president’s squad have been chosen to play against LondonMidlands at Leicester on April 7. The game is the opening fixture in a four-match tout by the President’s team to mark the centenary of the English Rugby Union. The AU Blacks selected are B. G. Williams, who will make his debut in England, S. M. Going, C. E. Meads, I. A. Kirkpatrick and B. J. Lochore. R. Urlich and W. D. Cottrell will have to wait for the XV’s second match, against Northern Counties at Chester. The team for the game also includes four Australians, three South Africans, a Fijian and two Frenchmen. Meads will team at lock with his old rival, F. du Preez, Going’s half-back partner will be the Fijian G. Barley.
The team is: I. M. McCallum (South Africa), Williams, J. Trillo (France), S. O. Knight (Australia), J. Cole (Australia), Barley, Going, Lochore, C. Carrere (France), Meads, Du Preeze Kirkpatrick, R. Prosser (Australia), P. Johnson (Australia), H. Marais (South Africa).
