UNIVERSITY VACANCIES The University of New England Lecturer in Mathematics APPLICATIONS are invited for a Lecturer in Mathematics. The Department is responsible for courses in pure and applied mathematics and mathematical statistics. For this position an applicant with strong qualifications in statistics would be preferred but applications from persons with other qualifications will be considered. Salary will be within the range $A6697-$A9286 per annum. Conditions include provision for travel and removal expenses. University of New South Wales W. S. and L. B. Robinson College, Broken Hill LECTURERS—SENIOR LECTURERS THE W.S. AND L.B. Robinson University College in the city of Broken Hill is housed in attractive new buildings and has an expanding programme of research and development in collaboration with the local mining industry, which is supporting this expansion. Courses are offered in science, applied sciences and engineering by a small teaching staff and versatility in teaching interests would be advantageous. GEOLOGY: Preferably in one of the following fields: minerology, crystallography, petrology, geophysics and geochemistry. The successful applicant will be expected to develop his research in some aspect of the geology of the Broken Hill area.
