VACANCY MALES ORCHESTRA ADMINISTRATOR THE CHRISTCHURCH CIVIC Orchestra Foundation seeks applications for the position of full-time Administrator. The Administrator would be the principal executive officer of the Foundation and his main duties would include:— (1) The promotion of the Christchurch Civic Orchestra in its role as a concert-giving body and in providing orchestral accompaniment for other musical organisations. (2) Negotiations with those bodies assisting the Orchestra financially and developing general community support for the Orchestra. (3) Management of the Foundation’s concert programme including engagement of personnel, publicity, booking arrangements and concert administration. The Administrator will be responsible to the Board of Management and will work closely with the Musical Director and Executive appointed by the Board. The person we seek will have administrative ability and experience, a capacity to work in the field of public relations, and an appreciation of music, although technical knowledge and qualifications are not essential. He will recognise that the post, of necessity, entails irregular hours of employment and a need to adopt a flexible working schedule determined by concert requirements and the successful implementation of his duties.
