Serious decline by miners on Australian markets
The announcement of the discovery of forged script coupled with the news of a C. 1.8. investigation into Leopolds assays sent the Australian market into a serious decline yesterday. Speculatives, and the established miners were hit hard. Oils and industrials were easier in moderate trading. Spargo’s dropped 40c to 130 c.
Sipos was marked down 22c to 68c and Mining Finance shed 25c to 50c. Carr Boyd fell 30c to 70c, and Eastmet eased 18c to 62c. Metals Ex fell 60c to 520 c, Westmex dropped 15c to 95c. Among the established miners Kathleen Investments fell 40c to 920 c, and Queensland Mines dropped 100 c to 2200 c. Poseidon eased 50c to 3700 c. CRA shed 20c to 1200 c, New BH fell 60c to
1360 c and Peko was 10c down to 1070 c.
Western Mining lost 5c to 485 c and the contributing shares dropped the same amount to 360 c.
