(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 25. Of the 82 prisoners alleged to have been involved in the riot at Mount Eden on Saturday, 80 had pleaded guilty, one successfully pleaded not guilty, and one was found unfit to plead, said the Minister of Justice (Mr Riddiford) today.

“Sentences imposed ranged from a maximum for the ringleaders of forfeiture of three months remission, plus 15 days restricted diet, forfeiture of ail privileges, forfeiture of three months earnings and an order for future nonassociation with other inmates; to a minimum of seven days cell confinement for those whose participation had been simply passive refusal to leave the yard,” said Mr Riddiford.

The charges were heard by two Magistrates, Messrs M. L. Morgan and H. Y. Gilliand.
