President of institute
Mr R. R. Brown, the general manager of the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board, has been elected president of the New Zealand division of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries for 1971. Mr Brown was a vicepresident in 1969 and in 1970 He was elected an associate of the institute in 1954 and advanced to a fellowship five years later. Other officers elected at the division’s annual meeting held at Palmerston North were: Vice-presidents, Messrs P. J. Scott (Invercargill) and A. H. Braby (Wellington); treasurer, Mr J. D. Rose (Auckland);. council, Messrs J. M. Andrew and D. S. Lewis (Wellington), A. D. Fergusson (Whangarei), D. A. Hogan (Balclutha), P. F. Polson, H. G. Hunt and H. E. Read (Christchurch), H. M. Speakman, D. L. Perry and D. F. Stuart (Auckland).
