Park cycle tracks
Sir, —I wonder if the Christchurch City Council could find a little finance to improve the cycle track from Millbrook to the Armagh Street bridge. Over the years the grass has encroached from either side, making it barely wide enough in places for two persons to pass. The surface is also breaking up. I am sure all the cyclists who daily use this pleasant route would be grateful if this work could be carried out. —Yours, etc., A.E.W. March 18, 1971. [The Director of Reserves (Mr H. G. Gilpin) comments as follows: “It is intended t$ give attention to the weed growth at an early date and to provide finance on next year’s estimates for the sealing of not only this particular pathway but also others in need of repair throughout Hagley Park.”]
