OFFICIAL OPENING

One thousand persons, including 950 guests, will be at the official opening of the Four Square new distribution centre and headquarters in Northcote this evening.

The $1 million investment by the 315 independent grocers in Canterbury, the West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough, will be open for inspection by the guests from 5 p.m. Because of the large number of guests, the host company, Foodstuffs (Christchurch), Ltd, owned and operated by the grocers, have decided that no parking will be allowed in the grounds of the new centre. Guests will be able to park their cars in the parking area of the Northlands Shopping Centre, from where buses will take guests to the distribution centre, and be on hand to return guests to their cars after the function. “We express our sincere appreciation to

the management of the Northlands Shopping Centre, Papanui, the Parent Teachers Association and Sister Margaret Mary of St Josephs Convent, Vagues Road, and A. Wander, Ltd (Ovaltine), for making parking facilities available to us on this occasion,” said the board of directors of Foodstuffs (Christchurch), Ltd.
