ARTISTIC MURAL
The mural is an international effort It is designed by Milan Mrkusich, the inter-nationally-known painter born in Auckland of Jugoslav parents; the glazed tiles were made in Japan, the mural was
fixed to the wall by a Scots master plasterer. The architects for the distribution centre, Juventin and Partners, of Auckland, commissioned the mural to give colour to the concrete, brick and block building.
Mr Mrkusich’s design was sent to Japan with the colours noted by numbers on the master drawing. The glazed tiles are each under an inch square, and are fixed to mats llj-inch square.
