(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 25. Mr S. J. Callahan, director of administration with the 1 Department of Agriculture, has been appointed chief executive officer of the i Remuneration Authority. The appointment was announced today by the Min- , ister of Labour (Mr Marshall), r who said he hoped that the . appointment of members of the authority would be made within the next few days. Mr Marshall said Mi Callahan would be assisted I by officers seconded from the Department of Labour I and other Government dei partments.
"To facilitate the smooth introduction of the legislation my department will hold a number of introductory seminars over the next two weeks,” Mr Marshall said. “It is hoped to arrange fot the members and staff of the Remuneration Authority to attend the first of these next Wednesday. Subsequent seminars and discussions will be held with conciliation commissioners and with representatives of employers and the trade union movement if required. "In addition, my department is preparing a compre--1 hensive explanatory pamphlet to assist those who will be affected by the legislatltion.”
