BRIDGE AND LOOP RAMP TO GIVE ACCESS TO PORT OF TIMARU.—Work is continuing on the bridge section of the loop access road from The Terrace across the railway line, and the memorial walks on Caroline Bay. The bridge is the first stage of the $5m transport plan for Timaru. The second phase includes the construction of the loop ramp, which will loop out over the bay and curl back under the overbridge. The over-all plan is designed to serve the needs of a population of 42,000 in Timaru in 1990.
